Excellent point to point trail horse riding holiday in Spain. Ride north from the small white-washed villages of Burgos to the Atlantic Ocean at Santander and enjoy various landscapes from mountain passes to the fast beach riding along the Atlantic Coast.

The horses are all Pure Spanish (PRE) and Spanish mix, forward-going and very responsive, sure footed and experienced in difficult terrain, ridden in Spanish style saddles. Accommodation on each night is in comfortable small hotels and guest houses with en-suite bedrooms, the food typical of the region.

This Spanish horse riding holiday will appeal to intermediate riders who are interested in a combination of scenery and culture with comfortable hotels, good company and beautiful horses.

I have ridden this route just the once to date but will definitley be back to repeat again. It has some challenging riding with climbs up some steep mountain trails however when you reach the peak the views are breath taking.
The next day you could be working your way through canyons with vultures flying over head but my favourite day by far has to be the last day spent riding you horses along long stretches of sand on your arrival into Santander. I am not sure who enjoyed this more, the horses or the riders!
